Expansion of Cement Factories a Priority: Shafe'i

TEHRAN -- Minister of Industries Gholamreza Shafe'i said here on Tuesday that his ministry has placed the expansion of existing cement factories as a priority in order to boost the production of the commodity.
Speaking at a ceremony to honor the pioneers of the industry in Iran, Shafe'i said in the coming year (beginning March 21, 2001), one million tons should be added to the current capacity of cement production in Iran.
He said given the appropriate distribution of cement and the presence of skilled manpower in the factories, the ministry believes that the expansion of existing factories is the best way to boost the production in the field.
